Home Our Staff

We love your pets

Our staff is experienced and trained in all aspects of veterinary medicine. They share in the excitement of the first visit with your new pet and cherish time with your graying, older pet.

Relationships with the family pet are an important aspect of our practice and we strive to treat your pet as we would want our own treated.

We are active members of our community.  We enjoy educating people of the important responsibilities of pet ownership, while nurturing the Human-Animal Bond.  If your school would like a visit from one of our veterinarians, please let us know.

I am a serious Dawg fan and will be at UGA's Sanford stadium as often as possible during the Fall season. I ski in the winter season and golf during the spring season. I try to rest on my porch with an ice tea during the Summer seasons (Too hot!). I also enjoy coaching track and football.

Our Staff

Debbie's Picture Deb Pounds - Practice Manager - I was born in Georgia and have lived here all my life. I have obtained a Bachelor's of Science degree in Computer Information Systems. I have been in the veterinary field for over four years and find it very rewarding interacting with our clients and their faithful companions. I have two cats - Spazz and Donzi. I have the priviledge of working with a wonderful group of veterinary professionals who strive daily to deliver the very best in veterinary care. I enjoy my work, hiking and the great outdoors, traveling, reading and listening to music. I also love to hear owners tell special stories about their pets. If you have a great story, I would love for you to share it with me.

Wendy's Picture Wendy Keene - Office Manager - I was born in Canada and moved to the South due to being an Air Force brat. I moved to Jackson County 10 years ago. I have always loved animals; currently I have 2 dogs, a black Lab mix and a Jack Russell (Terrorist). I enjoy horseback riding and gardening. I have been with Hoschton Animal Hospital since July of 2006 and have enjoyed every minute of it.
Patrizia's Picture

Patrizia Woodruff - Registered Veterinary Technician - I came here from Switzerland to 2000. I was planning on just staying for vacation but made Georgia my home. I started to work for Hoschton Animal Hospital in 2002, where I soon found the first addition to our family: our cat Munchkin. Since she seemed lonely while I was at work, we adopted Merlin, a very friendly feline. Lynx, a Shih Tzu was added one year later.

Amanda's Picture Amanda Decker - Veterinary Assistant - I’ve been working at Hoschton Animal Hospital since September 2003. I love working at Hoschton Animal Hospital because the staff is like my family and I love being part of a team.  Most of all, I love the animals I get to work with, and I enjoy the challenges that I face everyday. There’s always something new and exciting- never a dull moment.
I have 3 wonderful pets of my own: two cats, Lestat (aka Moofus) and Craven, who is better known as Itty Lou, and one amazing puppy dog, named Lucas. They all get along and are very happy little critters.
I treat every pet that walks through the door at Hoschton Animal Hospital like one of my own. I hope to get the opportunity to meet you and your babies if I haven’t already.
Brittany's Picture Brittany Dozier - Client Care Representative - I was born and raised in Georgia, having lived here most of my life except for a short time in Texas. My furry babies are a Great Dane named Magik and two cats named Maximus and Moose. I've been with HAH for over 5 years and love it more each year. I am always interested in hearing about your pets and am always willing to share a personal story about mine.
Brent's picture Brent Wehunt - Veterinary Assistant - I graduated from Jackson County Comprehensive High School in 2007 and have been happily working here at Hoschton Animal Hospital since July of 2006.  I love it here and everyone has become a second family to me; there’s no place I’d rather be than right here.  Beginning as a Kennel Assistant, I decided to become a Veterinarian Assistant a year later.  I now believe I’ve found what I want to do with my life.  My plans are to complete my core classes at Gainesville State College and then transfer to UGA for a degree in Pre-Vet Med and attend Vet School.  Eventually, I want to become a veterinarian. This is my first job and I wouldn’t have a problem with it being the only job I’ve ever had until I reach my goal.
Malena Walker- Client Care Representative- I have enjoyed working at Hoschton Animal Hospital thus far.  I was born and raised in Georgia, and like spending my extra time in the yard or sewing.  I love watching my projects come to completion.  It is a joy to become a part of you and your pets as I help you along in life.  I look forward to each day's opportunity to learn and find ways to become a better person.
